It's a tough night out when you choose Stacey's. We sat at the bar watching the bartender clank glasses into stacks (getting ready for evening rush he told us). Yes, we finally got our drinks, but had to endure the terribly distracting clanking-clanking-clanking the whole time we were there (I guess we weren't the real customers he was waiting for). Well, that was the exception, let's try again, this time let's sit outside. Tic Toc, times goes by waiting for drinks outside. Then tic toc waiting forever for food, and then "could we have our silverware, please" and more waiting. Unpleasant again. The food is not cheap. But, being on Main Street on a spring or summer day is fun. Mixed feelings. We had the same experience at the now closed Dublin Stacey's. Long waits, no attention to detail, we actually left in mid-cocktail/appetizer hour once, you know to find a place we could enjoy spending money on over-priced drinks. We don't go to Stacey's anymore. Love the mural though.

I'll take flirty waitresses over people who don't know how to turn the Caps Lock off.

the drinks and the service are also good at Eddie Papas,
believe it or not Red Robbin, sit at the bar or in the lounge.

I wasn't crazy about the food at Stacey's. I thought it was just okay. There seemed to be an 'everything but the kitchen sink' mentality to some of the pasta entrees. The desserts were disappointing.

Interesting. I was going to go to Stacey's this afternoon. Then I read this post this morning, and decided to take my wife to the Cheese Cake Factory. A little too franchise oriented, but I have to admit we had a good time. A little out of the way, not perfect, but fun.

A few years ago while looking at the how high the prices had become at Stacy's I thought to myself, they will probably stop raising the prices when people stop coming. That was the last time I was there and it sounds as if the price hikes have probably stopped and they are about to go the way of the Stacy's in Dublin.

Quite frankly, I don't find any of the restaurants on Main Street worth it anymore. If I pay the price, it's only for the convenience, not the food or the experience.

I won't go to Baci's or Blue Agave. Strizzis OK, not great. Pastas OK for the Crab Louie at lunch but nothing special for dinner. Deans Cafe great for breakfast, really good food if you have 2 hours to kill.

I haven't been to Farmers but I have heard it's just OK.

Just a thought; isn't this type of re-energizing the new mayor should generate. Local power and enthusiasm in our downtown (for example)

Have gone many times to Main Street Brewery and love their Fish amd Chips. Get there before 8:00 pm. and you won't have to contend with the band and the man stawkers. They have some good bergers also at the brewery. Drinks are a little pricey.

It isn't downtown but if everytime I have been, Eddie Papa's has had GREAT service and their food is wonderful! It can get busy at times but they have some yummy cocktails and their prices aren't shabby.

I like it A LOT better then many of the places downtown.

I agree most restaurants in downtown have "run Their course" We could use a "Counters" like in Walnut Creek and perhaps a Calif Pizza Kitchen other than the satellite version at the mall-plus others--Whats with the City, do they do not issue permits easily or is there some other reason that we the "voters" and "patrons" aren't aware of??????? I wonder if Red Smoke Grill has looked into downtown, and what about a "small plate"eatery or a pastry shop that doesn't charge an arm and a leg?? does anyone have any insight??

Well, I visited Stacey's recently with my daughter for a special occasion. The service was outstanding, we went mid-afternoon, so it wasn't busy. The waiter was attentive and witty. The food was also outstanding, delicious. We had a wonderful experience, and would definitely return. A little too pricey to go often, but we had a very nice experience.

It's not all bad....

Have given Staceys' several tries of late and each of them have been horrible. When it first opened it was great but something has changed in the last 6-9 months. The same dishes are not the same.......the flavors are overbearing and just thrown together. The service has been awful and the prices continue to rise. I don't mind paying if the meals and service up are to par - but this is not the place.
