Monday Night Vineyard Avenue Closure
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Vineyard Ave Resident, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Jun 1, 2010 at 12:07 pm

I am a resident on Vineyard Ave. and when we were going home about 10PM Monday night the road was completely blocked off with fire trucks, PG&E trucks and a lot of police activity. We were able to access our home from the other end of the street, it looked like there was a car fire or something in one of the garages, but wondering if anyone knows what happened? Thanks

We also heard load screeching, then pops like gunfire, followed by a lot of sirens.

PW can you get some information on this?

From Pleasanton Patch:

A traffic collision was reported on Vineyard Avenue and First Street. The collision invovled (sic) one vehicle and a pole. There was a nose injury reported.

As we tried to access our home on Monday night and found we couldn't, we asked the workers what happened. We were told it was a drunk driver that crashed into house/garage door. Power was knocked out and AT&T trucks were working on the damage for most of the morning/afternoon yesterday.

Seriously people.........call a damn taxi, instead of endangering the lives of innocent people!!!

Thanks for the link to the Pleasanton Patch page, A Neighbor. This isn't the first time that there's been information available there that never shows up on the Pleasanton Weekly website. Having the police blotter available is really a great community service and one that has been suggested by others on the PW forum as something the PW staff should look into. Does anyone know more about the Pleasanton Patch? Is it a one-person operation? I only see the editor's name, Marnette Federis listed, but the "paper" seems really on the ball in terms of breadth of coverage and timely postings.
