At our Neighborhood Watch meeting the Community Services Officer advised us to NEVER open the door to someone representing themselves as a law enforcement officer, utility company employee, city employee, ect., without first seeing proper identification. If they can't provide identification, call law enforcement immediately. If someone knocks on your door and requests to use your phone or bathroom - don't hesitate, close the door immediately. Never allow a complete stranger in your home. If an unfamiliar person loiters in your neighborhood for an unreasonable period of time, notify law enforcement. Some of us have those little "peep holes" in our front door - use them.....

Use common sense.
