Will Staples Ranch be like another New Park Mall?

Back in the 70's Fremont blocked a developer from building a mall off the freeway because of increased cogestion, urban sprawl, traffic you name it ... basically the same NIMBY attitude as what is un-folding at Staples Ranch.

So instead of the mall being built in Fremont, the developer jumped to the otherside of the freeway and built it in Newark, and Newark not only enjoys the tax benefits that a mall brings in, but they swiped all of Fremont's shoppers to boot!

Traffic? Big mess in Fremont, no real effect in Newark ...

I think we need to be realistic, Staples Ranch will happen one way or another, might as well get the benefits of the project beofre somebody else snookers us and 'we lose every which way but loose'.

Sorry anti- crowd, it's called progress, and urban sprawl.
