Pleasanton Junior Football League celebrates 40 years
Sports, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Oct 24, 2009 at 9:19 pm

If you are in the Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park on a Saturday in fall and pass the skate park, baseball fields, softball fields and soccer fields, you'll find the Pleasanton Junior Football League. About 500 Pleasanton youths don pads, cleats and helmets, and head to the back of the Sports Park to play football each weekend.

Another weekend where bad calls by the refs have caused the game to be decided by them and not the kids.

PJFL Parent, another weekend where you can teach your kid that life is not fair. The refs do the best job they can, get over it.

PJFL, Don't you guys have at least some Minimum coaching standards?

A crying child pulling a coach off his dad is 'disturbing'; and just a 1 game suspension??????? Just the allegations warrant a 'BAN'.

Wake-up!!!

I was there when this altercation took place and I'd like to say that there are a lot of great points already made in this thread that I'll refrain from repeating. I would like to say that one of the most disturbing things about the attack was that this was done in front of the children and the image of Haggerty's child crying while pulling on Brigham's leg and crying, will be burned in a lot of people's minds that day. The bottom line is that our coaches are supposed to be educating and instructing our children. I have another son that will be ready for football soon and have no desire to have him witness how to perform an assault on someone. Mr. Brigham needs to step back and realize he doesn't have the mentality to compose himself or keep himself in a position as a child's role model and remove himself from any coaching positions with children. Latest news is that he's being reviewed for a coaching job at Valley Christian. Say it isn't so!
