Why would someone reference the "young lady who identified her Boyfriend"?? So much for staying anonymous!! I did not read anything in the articles in the Weekly that made reference to how the police received the tip. Kids have a hard enough time "tattling" on their peers. Nice going letting the kids know that the "anonymous" tip line means ... posting it on the Weekly Forum for the rest of the school/town/world to know who the "narcs" are. How uncool of you, Jane! I agree she should be commended for doing the right thing but you didn't have to "out" her identity. That is why we have the "Anonymous Tip Line"! DUH!!

Hopefully, this matter will be resolved so that the students can have their dance! It's not too much to ask FOR and it's a wonderful way to enjoy their young lives. The bad apples are busted.
Students, find a way to have your DANCE....HOORAY!!! Keep it safe!

How is referring to someone as a 'young lady' outing her? Were you able to pinpoint the individual by that description? I believe there is more than one young lady in Pleasanton. How were you able to zero in on one?

Mary,
Do you honestly think that the Foothill and Amador students haven't heard "Who" made the threats by now? (And now they know that his girlfriend is the one who turned him in.) When kids use the anonymous tip-line they may want to protect their own right to privacy and protect themselves from retaliation. This is a small town and it doesn't take long to pass along information via myspace bulletins, texting, or chatrooms....and now the Pleasanton Weekly (town-gossip) forum.

I guess my Amador students are not in the gossip loop, because they don't know who made the threats, and did not know it was common knowledge. They are not interested in myspace, etc. I see your point, however.
