Incident at the Hilton Pleasanton Saturday night (9/12)
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Jake, a resident of the Stoneridge neighborhood, on Sep 14, 2009 at 10:12 am

I was in town staying at the Hilton Pleasanton Saturday night and around 11pm two ambulances, two police cars and a fire truck showed up. I saw one man being taken into custody by police. There was a wedding reception going on and many from the wedding party were outside amidst the chaos. I saw one person being wheeled out on a gurney. I'm guessing at least one more was taken since the second ambulance came a bit later.

I wasn't sure how serious it was but the hotel was very hush hush about it and I haven't seen anything in the local news/newspapers as well. Does anyone here on the boards know what happened?

I also heard from my son that there was an incident on Friday night at the In-and-Out parking lot where a car raced in, carrying a man(?) with a gunshot wound. The paramedics who were eating there were called over to assist and then quite a number of Pleasanton Police cars showed up.

Nothing in the paper on that?

Wow, that's just down the street from the hotel. I wonder if the two incidents are related. The wedding party did check in Friday night. But I find it interesting that the Pleasanton Police Department doesn't post their crime log on their website or any of the local papers.

I talked with police today, who said the Hilton incident was a man at a wedding who was charged for being drunk in public. As for the incident at In N Out, it was a CHP jurisdiction as someone was shot on the freeway and they pulled over and stopped at In N Out. It appeared the wounds weren't life threatening, but I'll confirm with CHP tomorrow.

That's so special! Thanks, Emily. Someone shot, big to-do at In N Out, and hey, the PPD and the PW rely on citizens' reports before deciding that maybe, um, someone might want to say something?

Cool.

that people would transport a person who's been shot to the nearest In and Out for a burger and fries! Gawd, what has our world come to?!?

Have to agree with the above comment. It's kinda weird having someone shot in your car and stopping off at an In-n-Out Burger ordering a side order of band aids.

We usually hear all about trivial news that hits the Valley - I'm also wondering why no mention?

Thanks for the info Emily. I suspected alcohol was involved but wonder what happened for them to need two ambulances and at least one person being taken out on a gurney. Whatever happened, that's a night the new couple isn't going to forget.

Heard back from the CHP. There was a shooting on 580 east in Castro Valley around 1 a.m. Saturday night. A round of shots was allegedly fired from someone in a late model Chevy Blazer or Yukon. Two people had minor injuries. Because of construction, the nearest, busiest exit (where they could likely find help) was Hopyard in Pleasanton. The investigation is continuing and anyone with information should call CHP at 510-622-4618.

Emily, are you sure that this incident didn't occur at 1am Saturday morning? I believe that it was Friday night/Saturday 1am and not 1am Saturday night.
