How can you label so many people as failures in this situation? You write from a current perspective assuming that all the information we now how was present to administration, parents, and classmates prior to Monday. That is simply not accurate. Of course mistakes were made but to label those as failures at this stage of the process is premature.

We have a mental healthcare crisis in this nation that badly needs to be addressed. Until we can treat mental illness as a disease like any other disease and remove the stigma associated with it, we will continue to have these atrocities. Cho is a victim of the mental health system.

All the red flags were there, but he was still allowed to remain in the dorm with his classmates. It's unfortunate that he had to suffer and so many others has to die in the wake of his death.
