NUMMI may be closed soon
State, National, International, posted by Bobby, a resident of the Del Prado neighborhood, on Jul 21, 2009 at 12:57 pm

It is looking more likely that because of General Motors pullout of NUMMI in Fremont that the company will close its doors soon. Over 5,000 are employed directly at the facility and 35,000 statewide.

And exactly what is the problem??? Fat cat labor unions do a pretty good job of taking care of their own. Why in the heck should I be concerned if they continue to make outrageous salaries and benefits. I'm serious ... give me a reason to cry???

That is terrible as many members of our community live in Pleasanton and have worked in that company for their entire careers. I sure hope that in spite of the pullout by GM/government that something can be done. The article mentioned the state trying to do something. Does anyone know what they might be?

For those employees who supported the invasion of Iraq and the War President Bush, I recommend that you join up and help out with the war effort in Afghanistan. That way, you can help spread FREEDOM and American VALUES! Thousands upon thousands will say that they support you as long as they aren't the ones being put at risk. Get the picture? If you die, you die spreading FREEDOM and red, white, and blue VALUES! Your family will receive a folded up flag and some Americans will say that you but not offer you a job without benefits. Don't ask for government help because you will be referred to as a Socialist!

Correction: ...will say thank you but offer you a job without benefits...

VIVA UNIONS! VIVA AMERICA! VIVA!

Cholo,

NUMMI is a unionized facility and I would be they voted overwelmingly for Barack Obama in the last election. As a matter of fact the union there activity campaigned for him. I wonder how they feel about it now.

Cholo,

You are in serious trouble and you need to seek help. I mean that very sincerely Cholo. Your post is so unrelated to the topic! IF you are relating the Union Employee's from NUMMI to being for the war in Iraq. Unions, AFL/CIO were extremely vocal and against the war and still are. Not to say that every union employee is against the war.

That being said, you go from coherent to incoherent conversation, faster than a Jack Rabbit in these forums.

Have you heard of "rapid cycling bi-polar" because you either have that, which is not your fault unless you do nothing about it, or you are schizophrenic, or you have borderline personality disorder. I think the latter personally.

I am a doctor in the mental health field and I am not trying to hurt you, I am trying to help you.
