Those familiar with my past writing here already understand my attitude towards California's initiative system. I'm glad to see the media starting to bring attention to it.

Many ballot initiatives would not be necessary if the legislators were doing their jobs. Most of the people in California are to blame for voting these bozos into office in the first place, so now the chickens are coming home to roost.
Thank God that we have a 2/3 majority requirement for approving additional taxes. Imagine how high our tax burden would be if the majority party could ram through all the tax increases they think they need.........

We should get rid of all of our elected officials and just vote twice per year via the internet on issues. We are one of the very few who have fulltime legislatures and see the waste they are?
