Not surprising at all and I suspect this number is going to grow rapidly as it is obvious and even acknowledged by the White House and House that the programs are not working at all. This is why you are beginning to see some push back from Democrats coming up for re election next year and they do not want to be seen as connected to the current and upcoming debacle. On another subject, Sarah Palin, I heard George Stephanopous speaking about her and he said the reason why you are continuing to see the level of noise about her from the liberal media and democrats is that this is a major issue for the democrats prior to a major elections coming up next year. Basically, without her being governor and secluded up in Alaska she is now free to roam the lower 48 states unincumbered and pound away and democrats running for re election and her message is really being to connected with not only the conservative right but also independents.

Einstein,
The phrase, "Pullin' a Palin," is currently defined by urbandictionary.com as:
1. Quitting when the going gets tough; abandoning the responsibility entrusted to you by your neighbors for book advances and to make money on the lecture circuit.
2. Bizarre move that will damn ambitions for higher office.

Connie,
Did you actually have a point to make? I'm sorry your president's "theories" only lasted 6 months before they were factually proven wrong...again.
It's actually considered a good character value to admit you were wrong and we will all forgive you - you were in good company (though not mine since I have values that could see right through Obama's neo socialist agenda).
Eventually even you can work through your personal shame!

Al,
I am not one for tags or putting people in boxes or definitions and actually have my own ideas and beliefs about why she resigned and it or they have nothing to do with being a quitter and does not fit with her past operations. I think she is going to be a thorn in the side of liberals or non america first people for a long long long time regardless of whether or not she ever runs for president.

Wowza! I hope the liberals are strapped in for that kind of rapid decent down into the ground (referring to the link Julie provided...the graph says it all).

The approach of taxing and spending our way out of this mess is not working and will never work.
It's interesting to note that now the people of Germany are getting very nervous about this approach, since socialist Western European nations have for decades believed in the Nanny State.
Yes, POTUS BHO has proposed some tax cuts, but on balance, we are taking on far too much debt and continue to lose jobs.
We need more aggressive tax cuts and cuts in red tape to business start ups. This would be a good first/second/third/fourth step. ;)

By report it is estimated that between 10-20% of the "stimulus" has been spent or 200-300B so far. Why don't they cut our losses and stop the bleeding here? End the madness now and get it right. CUT TAXES and repeal what is left of the "stimulus" (joke).

Noedup Garie,
Stop stealing my material! I was just going to use that to smear Obama on my show today. We right-wing nut jobs can't afford to steal material from each other like this.

Most of the 'stimulus' numbers are really 'set aside for 'green' programs....NOT REALLY stimulus. Before crisis, BHO said he would go in inner-cities & TRAIN UNemployABLE to do weather-stripping, etc. & to go in our homes ORDERING US what to do to meet Big Brother's NEW ORDER.
Only a tiny bit (20% est.) of stimulus has been spent. Most Wall Street & GM unions, and inner-cities. But our mid-size companies are going down. My son's semi-conductor co had 89 in Jan.75 in Feb, 65 in April, this week 50. Those tax-PAYING 40 & 50 yr olds, earning $70-$90 are furlouighed & use to earn $80-$100, even ones with reduced pay wonder about making ends meet. But Obama's pledge was to the "inner-cities". Just like the 'health care for all" is NOT about health care for us...it's about creating a way for YOU to provide better (than you do now) health care for 'inner-city'. It got bogged down with DEMS in Congress this week....they realize now a sada tax just won't fund health care ! No surprise there. They've made promises they don't know how to keep.No surprise..But we don't want to "discuss" it TOO much...just HOW to pay. Nasty details! There are no specifics on this 1/6 of economy, & has NO COST CONTROLS. PBS tonight said they just have to revert to "soaking the rich". Pleasantonians should have known that, having the highest income for a town of this size.. you all will be footing the bill. That's OK.Remember Obama inherited the all DEM Pelosi Congress that had been in charge of money matters for the full 2 yr term before he was elected. Barney, Maxine, & ACORN had already tried the social engineering of getting houses to the UNqualified...didn't go well. Now we have to try the Health Care promise that was promised without any SPECIFICS on the HOW or COST. We need Laugh IN again "sock it to me; sock it to me ! Oh, we're just getting started !
