House fire causes $250,000 in damage Wednesday near Val Vista Park

Firefighters were able to put out a first-alarm fire that started in a home on Mason Street Wednesday morning that claimed the life of a family dog.

I saw this fire and it is truly a tragedy. But why did the Pleasanton Police arrive 5 minutes before the Fire Department ?

Why???

Because police cars are on patrol and probably in the vicinity already and fire trucks are in the house and waiting for calls.

Plus... police cars are much faster than fire trucks!
