There have been no updates on this story for days now, and I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering how those critically injured in these accidents are doing... and praying for them. Could there be some update, please?

There has been no updates because of the pending investigation. There is speculation that alcohol was the cause. The indivual that was driving was drinking the night before. its a horrible loss either way.

Alcohol was the cause of the accident! Katie was three times over the limit and shes only 19! Laurel on the other hand I don't know what her toxicology was? They had been in San Francisco partying with some friends all night and were drinking. A friend dropped them off at the bart station in Pleasanton where Katies car was parked. A few minutes later the accident happened and you all know how that happened. I know all this info because I am a friend of the girl who was killed and the girl who was driving. I graduated with both of them and I was shocked when I heard the news of this accident. Laurel's death has been really hard for me to deal with, Katie on the otherhand I could care less about. She has been in jail for 4 months now, and thats where she belongs. I will make sure Laurel will get justice and Katie will pay for what she did. She was an alcoholic who had a previous arrest 5 months prior to this accident. She was drunk in public and when the cops came they tried to take her home but instead she punched him. So now she has a felony or misdeameaner for assaulting a cop plus all this stuff. I really have no sympathy for Katie. She killed my friend whom I loved very much and its hard to forgive someone who did this. But she needs to get help and realize what a devestating thing she has done to not only me, my friends, their families and friends and this whole town! Maybe something good can come from this mistake?

What about an update on this other loser Robert Brian Monaghan. Is he in jail? How is the 9 year old girl doing now?
