Final decisions nearing on new San Ramon Valley school buses
Schools & Kids, posted by tiredoftraffic!, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Apr 7, 2009 at 6:25 am

Guess with the current budget fiasco the PUSD faces, considering something like San Ramon schools is out of the question? Wonder what that district knows/does that PUSD can learn from when it comes to putting in place something that would help the atrocious and even dangerous school traffic problem that descends upon the city TWICE each schoolday, all week long??

Read a little deeper - the article that you reference is about the city of Danville providing transportation - not the school district.

In Pleasanton, WHEELS buses already provide coordinated services to the middle and high schools so that those students can get to and from school on the bus. Each morning I see 6-10 students waiting for the bus at 8 am, just at the one bus stop that is near my home.

The schedule is here:

Perhaps the schools could do more to encourage carpooling... but certainly a large number of students walk or bike to neighborhood elementary schools.
