Great Weather We Are Having, Eh? Schools & Kids, posted by resident, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Apr 5, 2009 at 8:04 pm
Hey Frank, you are right, we are being shut down. So this thread will not use the "t" word. Either Jeb and his staff are filtering out all of us "bad people" talking about that thing we cannot mention or they have a program to look for certain words or phrases. So I will not mention a certain person who editorializes in favor of a certain subject that would benefit him or her personally if said certain thing happened.
If said person shuts off this thread we will have to wonder about several things:
1. does that person have a life at all when that person spends all weekend shutting off comments from rational posters on a very important topic?
2. why would the publisher of this newspaper allow said person the right and opportunity to act in opposition to the stated position of the publisher?
3. how long can the public keep posting new topics and threads in order to jerk the chain of said person who should know better and act like an adult?

I was looking at Frank's post on the other thread where he compiled statistics on the "censorship" (which I think really applies to the government, not a private company), and now this. It makes me wonder: aren't there bigger fish to fry out there? I don't know, how about taking on any worthwhile issue from stopping genocide in Darfur to helping the food bank in Livermore? Take your pick of any constructive, worthwhile issue. The amount of time and energy people put into unproductive conflict on this site is astounding, and it is a poor representation of our town.

What about the person(s) starting obsessive, repetitive, and idiotic threads? Do they have a life?
>3. how long can the public keep posting new topics and threads in order to jerk the chain of said person who should know better and act like an adult?
Don't know the answer to that one. Totally dependent on whether the poster knows better and acts like and adult.
quick definition: posting purposely inflammatory things for the sole purpose of baiting others to argue the points until blue in the face - basically people do this for kicks, to destroy conversations and communities, for the hell of it).
