This restaurant has gotten full of itself. We stopped in right after the AVHS Parent night this past week and waited from about 8:50 until 9:00 p.m. by the front door and reception desk. At 9:00 pm on the dot(according both to my watch AND the t.v. monitor on the wall right in front of both of us), the hostess came over to tell us that they close at 9:00 and we weren't welcome. When we got in our car to go elsewhere to eat it was still just turning 9:01.
"Best of" tacos maybe, but not customer service or hospitality - not when the hostess cares more about getting the kitchen staff clocked out then serving someone a bowl of soup and a burrito after a school event.
We'll be sure to keep that in mind for all of the upcoming school and sports events where we used to bring large parties.

The place use to be ok, but now it sucks Chorizo, as do most of the "mainstream" Mesican food restaraunts in the Valley. Look, if your Chile Relleno comes out of a can and is not real, as in with a stem still on it and blister roasted ... you got robbed of your money.
And old "Haps" went "upscale" so that is another good place gone Yuppie ... you use to be able to have a simple meal and beer, then on weekends they'd push the tables out of the way and bring a local Country band to play and if people wanted to dance, you could ... now I get the feel that the place is meant for money makers.
The whole town is going Botique and gated community ... bike riders in their Euro-Fashion bike gear ... there was a time when it was more real.

albertos is only good for drinks, or some drunk food. without something to make you think it taste better, nothing special. the taco truck that stops off vineyard has better food.

Yuppies on un-mufflered Harleys have a big effect on dining in downtown Pleasanton. I'd heard the police were getting serious about enforcement, but I gather they've slacked off. I wish they'd ticket them. Modified mufflers are ILLEGAL, pure and simple.
I agree, Alberto's hasn't been good in a couple of years. El Molino, on Hopyard right by the freeway, is good. It's hidden, whay behind the BK, but worth it. Not very fancy, though.
