Check out the comedy at the Pleasanton Hotel
Restaurants, posted by David Burns, a resident of the Castlewood neighborhood, on Sep 22, 2007 at 5:10 pm

For those of you not aware The Pleasanton Hotel has a great comedy show every Wednesday. My wife and I were driving by and saw a banner that said "Comedy Tonight" and dropped in. It was only $7, there were like seven or eight comedians (all funny) and the headliner was Larry "Bubbles" Brown who is very well known and was on David Letterman.

I'll be honest in that I was a little hesistant to go in as my last comedy experience was at the new Tommy T's in Pleasanton and it was awful. I paid $15 for three comedians and only one was half way decent. The drinks were overpriced and so was the food.

So as a lover of comedy I'm happy to say I've found a great place to go and will definitely be a regular.

The shows are actually produced by a local resident John DeKoven who owns Laugh-A-Lot Productions and is a comedian himself. His website is at www.laughalotproductions.com so check it out. He told me that they are also going to start doing shows there on occasional Fridays as well.

One thing I've seen on this forum is a lot of people complaining and or not supporting our local restaurants AND artists so let's do that and head on out for a night of comedy.
