Police activity on Bernal Saturday?

Original post made by Where's the news?, Oak Hill, on Mar 8, 2009

No mention of this in the newspaper here (of course!), but there was major police/CHP activity on Bernal near Valley Saturday afternoon. Numerous cops surrounding a car, rifles drawn. Possibly a chase prior to this? I guess this isn't news, though.

I saw that also and also heard on ch. 7 news that law enforcement cracked down on several cites on some gang related issue. When I drove by about 2:15-2:30 one office was putting handcuffs on a young man and one was sitting on the curb in cuffs. There was about 5 cars, sherrif, chp and pleasanton police.

Thanks Donna. Well, if the Channel 7 news report was right and this was an incident involving gang activity with a big ol' arrest by the county sheriff's department, the CHP and the Pleasanton Police Dept., want to lay any bets that it won't show up here in the Pleasanton Weekly? Heavens, no. Tsk tsk, hush your mouth. The very thought of anything less than "pleasant" here in Pleasanton.

Or maybe it wasn't that, but I'm guessing we'll never read what it was.

Where's the news:

If you want to see something unpleasant in Pleasanton, all you have to do is look at the Parcel Tax threads ;)

4 CHP cars just off the freeway...suggests to me (and anyone else with any common sense) that it was a CHP issue on the freeway, not a Pleasanton issue, which is why it won't show up in the Weekly

Hmmm. I had heard that there were other agencies present in addition to the CHP.

When we drove by, all we saw were CHP cars.

To: Where's the news: The Pleasanton Weekly isn't a daily newspaper, its a weekly newspaper.

I left a message with PW staff. They are probably waiting to hear back from the police dept.

Here's a link to the story. It was not related to gang activity or the crackdown. Web Link
