Without getting into details, a Pleasanton police sergeant said this week that investigators expect to wrap up their examination into a house fire on Angela Street in the next couple of weeks.

It absolutely was not a meth lab explosion. If it was, the area would have been sealed off and cleaned up by a hazmat crew. It also makes no sense to cook meth in a million-dollar house in a nice neighborhood, not to mention that many neighbors have visited the family and there was nothing weird going on there - the only unusual thing was their race cars.
That said, I really hope the Weekly continues to report on this story, and be a little biut more curious and aggressive in reporting - why not interview involved parties, do a little investigation into the financial issues, the bankruptcy and foreclosure, etc. Instead, the Weekly seems to just rely on pronouncements from official sources. That's very lazy reporting. It seems like the Weekly wants to be a cozy small-town paper instead of doing quality journalism. Take a look at the SF Weekly, East Bay Express, etc., and their investigative features. The Weekly has the potential to be a great paper, but needs to be more aggressive in reporting.

It's true that if it had been a meth lab, a very serious hazmat crew would have been at work. However, what we don't realize is that these methlabs do exist in some multi-million dollar houses. Blackhawk had an instance in one of their mega homes in a nice neighborhood. It was felt that the lack of news coverage was about clout and not ruining the reputations in that area.

Have you forgotten when a house in Castlewood was sublet and turned into a meth lab. The same house where a man barricaded himself in the crawl space a few years ago. So ya meth labs do happen in nice areas.

I check in from time to time in hopes of hearing some good news regarding De's recovery. Every time I do check this site I see the crap that people like yourself have to "throw out there" and I wish I hadn't bothered.

What is going on with this investigation????? Why the delay in releasing details, things must be clear by now.
Has there been any word on the condition of Mrs. Zuffa? With all of the suspicious content on here, I would really like to hear her take on the whole thing.

I have to drive by the house everyday, and often wonder what the heck is going on with this case???? Pleasanton weekly posted the story as well as updates, it would be great if they could keep us informed... This will not go unforgotten!

Okay, it has been a month since the story was posted that said the investigation was winding down and we should know the results. Are they not releasing the information or will we ever be told who caused the fire? The residents want to know.
Many stories are published when they happen and we never find out the cause, I remember the motor cycle accident in Livermore where a man was killed. There was a truck driven by a teenager who was vilified by bloggers. The police or the news have never released the results of the investigation and that was ~Oct '08.
Pleasanton Weekly, please don't let this story fade away as many others have.

PLEASE GIVE AN UPDATE ON THIS CASE!its been a couple weeks and we still haven't gotten any information on how this happened!! Like other bloggers and residents desperate to know what happened, I think that our community should be informed. DON'T let this be forgotten.

Disappointed, there is an updated story on our main web page at www.pleasantonweekly.com on the fire investigation. It's been classified as an arson, but police are saying little else.
