Comments on Stories, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Dec 9, 2008 at 9:32 pm

The pinch of economic hard times is being felt by everyone this holiday season, but nowhere is it more evident than at Tri-Valley Haven, a Livermore-based shelter which provides shelter, food and other services to abused homeless and low-income individuals and families.

The link on the Tri-valley Haven website says that the deadline for holiday gift donation is Dec. 8th/9th, since this is when the gifts will be distributed. Since this article just appeared today, Dec. 9th, I think that some might be discouraged from donating to this worthy cause, since it appears it might be too late (already!). I'd love to donate, so if someone from the Pleasanton Weekly could clarify and print this information, I think it would be really helpful for others who are interested in donating. Thank you.

I just bought health insurance from Touchstone Benefits in Pleasanton(699-0675). Chas will donate half his commission to any charity you choose. Ended up being $57 per month, every month, for me and the charity I chose.
