Sirens last night 12/8/08
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Ray, a resident of the Valley Trails neighborhood, on Dec 9, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Does anyone know what all the sirens were for last night? There were a lot of them for about a half hour to 45 minutes. I'm in Valley Trails, and they seemed to be heading down Hopyard toward Main, or possibly Del Prado.

There was a pretty nasty car accident on Valley

There was a terrible accident at the corner of Valley and Hansen. We were told 2 people passed away, but I don't know if this is accurate or not. I have been looking for info on this website, (as well as Contracostatimes.com) but nothing has been posted. That is an intersection that is very, very dangerous, as people don't realize there is a stop sign on Valley, and blow through the intersection. It happens frequently! We cross cautiously every time. Maybe now they will install some flashing lights. What a shame. I am praying that the information I have is not accurate!!!

A call to the police confirmed the Valley and Hansen accident, but there was no indication in their records of any deaths or a call for an ambulance.

Emily, maybe you can get more info. I know there were at least 2 ambulances dispatched, as we live around the corner and my family drove by. There were people lying in the street as well. A mom and child in a Lexus were unhurt, but the folks in the other car were injured.

Hespun out on some leaves and overcorrected and it sent him into a tree. Everybody was fine, but he was given a dui for blowing a 0.08%. The car is totaled, but nobody got hurt, besides minor burns from the airbag explosion
