LOVE them 'Caught-In-The-Act' stories! Need more of those, especially with copper thievery!

Good work by an alert citizen, and a good reminder for everyone that law enforcement is a community activity.

I see stories like this and think the PPD is on the ball. But unfortunately the level of service depends on who you are. I won't go into details right now, but trying to take them on ever is a bad idea. If they do something you don't like, suck it up and don't say a word. It's not worth the lower level of service as it relates to emergencies. Unfortunately I speak from experience after living here for 20+ years.

I do live close to where this crime to place and am pleased they were caught in the act and apprehended. Thankfully these crooks aren't on the same special poo poo list I'm on.

Mohr Park Mom, you sling vague accusations around and write as if the PPD has you on a special "do not respond to" list. Every call is on a recorded line and even if the whole PPD wanted to ignore you or retaliate against you it is highly unlikely it would happen. Perhaps you pissed off one person, who could make certain things harder on you. (Maybe a cop found your perfect little never do anything wrong child breaking the law and you shot off your mouth about persecution. Whatever.) However, to imply that you would not receive the appropriate level of service for an emergency call is ignorant and inappropriate.

@resident:

You know not what you speak of. But PPD does because the unforgivable contact was recorded. You're kidding yourself if you don't think they prioritize calls, but go with that as I assure you it's better than the realization I live with knowing your call would be responded to faster than mine.

I'm on the fence as to outing the horrible and deceitful behavior or to just let it go because people that move here would be shocked by their actions and lies caught on tape.

I'm happy for you that you receive a great level of service and would want it any other way for anyone else. For me, yeah, not so much.

I am incredibly glad these two drug addicted criminals were caught. I can only speak about one of these 2, but they are both repeat offenders, the one I sadly am related too, belongs in prison and should never ever get out this is his 8th felony conviction, for the exact same thing... I think its time to take a good hard look at our system as clearly it is flawed... just because he is "non violent" he is released several years early each time.. the businesses he steals from are not the only victims. each tax payer is a victim, each member of my family is a victim..
