Walkers exploring downtown Pleasanton tomorrow with guide

Original post made on Aug 16, 2013

The weekly Pleasanton World Walk to Wellness outing Saturday, Aug. 17, begins in front of the Museum on Main, 603 Main St., which is hosting a Firemen's Muster downtown all day. (Walkers may wish to come early for the pancake breakfast being prepared by firefighters beginning at 8 a.m., with donations accepted.) The walk will be led by a Walk Star (guest leader), longtime Pleasanton resident Jan Batchellor. She will lead the group down Main Street and into the historic residential area to the west, showing everyone the "secret passageway" to access the arroyo, where the walkers will cross a bridge to get to the trail that will take them back to Main Street. While downtown, walkers can check out the museum's current exhibit on firefighters or stay to enjoy the $10 barbecue lunch. To be put on the email list to receive information each Thursday about that Saturday's walk, email walks@worldwalktowellness.org.
