This is not about marriage. It's all about the benefits. Take all the marriage benefits away and no more gay rights issues. Treat everyone as an individual. I'm not gay, but I can see why the gay community would fight for benefits that others are receiving. Again, take away the benefits.
Everything is about our Government social re-engineering. They lower the benefits to our Military while giving access to benefits for illegals and now people who are gay. It's not about the right to get married. It's about the right to benefits. Follow the money.

Congratulations to all affected by these rulings. I'm glad the court finally agrees with me that your marriage and your family are just as important as mine. God bless!

I vote no on 8.
But I voted. The big loser in the process is our Democratic process. The voters vote and the courts said to hell with the voters we will do what we want.

If they would of taken this back to the people and not sat on there ass like last time thinking that SF would carry the day the out come would of been different. But we would of vote.

I'm happy you have the right to marry, but please stop cramming your way life down our throat and tell us who are man and women we are wrong. We have the same rights as you and for the state to tell us what my kids have to read because you say so is wrong

Heterosexual marriage is way overrated. The only reason people get married or have ever gotten married is because of the benefits.

Congratulations!

Equal benefits, protections and responsibilities for all who memorialize their commitment to sharing a life and a future together.

Judging by the high number of "Post deemed inappropriate by Pleasanton Weekly Online staff" for this post I would say that there are a number of Bigots in the Tri-Valley. Sad, and a shame. Did you know that there are many homosexuals in the Tri-Valley that are Republicans?

And, they have the same slant that you alleged conservatives have. Perhaps you should see them in the same light that you view from.

Cheers.

The discrimination was crazy, weird and sad. Glad that's over. May your marriages be healthier than the ones I see. Mazel tov.

CENSORSHIP of the news is shameful.

Say what you want, but it better be what I want to hear, per the Editor pf the Express. You are weak people. That is why our Nation is in the state it in... a real mess.

Yes this is Julia Pardini from Alamo and I am damn mad about how the Express participates in censoring us from giving our opinion.

If my comment gets in fine...if it doesn't fine also...

Julia, you apparently don't even know where you are posting.

Your first amendment rights have nothing to do with a blog that is sponsored by a newspaper. They own this blog and if you actually want to exercise your rights (if you can figure out what they are and are not) then start your own blog. They are not censoring your "news" as your personal opinions are hardly news at all. Say whatever you want on your own blog. Jeb and Gina cannot stop you. When you post on their blog, paid for by their newspaper, you play by their rules or you get your posts deleted.

I disagree on a regular basis with what they delete -- but I am not so uneducated that I would disagree on the grounds of my first amendment rights.

In my private opinion, "Julia" meant to direct her private concerns to the EMPRESS, not the eXPress...got it?
