Blatant false advertising.

"Never been a better time to buy" is a lie--2 years ago was a better time for buyers.

A industry is ALWAYS going to say that now is the right time to buy their product. Duh.

Not really false advertising however. Now is the best time to buy FOR THE SALESPERSON.

Despite the fact that today's new homes use more "truss Joists" (often called TJI's,) which are made of wood chips pressed together in glue, lightweight strandboard for roofs, and widely spaced roof trusses, not nailed, but held together with small metal clips, they may be safer, because California law now requires ALL new residential buildings to be fire sprinklered, including hotels, motels, apartments, and homes.
Without this the new lightweight materials fail much faster in fire. Fire fighters are very concerned about collapse in fires, and are more and more careful about staying inside very long.
The technique is called "Surround it and Drowned it" - and it means staying outside and letting the fire consume the building. Ideally they protect the next store neighbor.
Modern furniture contains much more expanded plastics, which burn faster too.
Fire sprinklered houses are much safer. Ask about them when you buy;
And also ask the real estate people why they list the lawn irrigation, but don't mention the fire sprinkler systems?
