Pleasanton's drug 'Take Back' program collects more than 750 pounds of pharmaceuticals

The Pleasanton Police Department in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) collected 787 pounds.pounds of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs during a "Take Back" program held April 27.

If you missed the chance to drop them off on that one special day where can you locally drop them off at regularly?

Thanks Steve. I was already aware that the County has places in other areas outside of Pleasanton to dispose of them, but still nothing nearby in Pleasanton. I wasn't aware that the city recommends throwing them in the garbage to dispose of them. You would think that Valley Care Hospital or the Police Dept would have one of the disposal bins to help make it easier and safer for Pleasanton residents to dispose of unwanted or expired prescriptions.

Try Custom Care Pharmacy on Main St. They will take some over the counter meds.
