Were your kids unsupervised last night?

Original post made by Unsupervised Kids???, Amberwood/Wood Meadows, on Apr 21, 2013

If you have a child who was at a party/sleepover last night in the Mohr Ave/Sutter Gate/McHenry Gate area, you may want to have a conversation with the supervising (or lack of supervising) parents. These young kids were out running around after midnight. The kids didn't seem to be a problem, however, they were way too young to be out at that time. Just wondering, did parents know about this and who was suppose to be supervising them?

Hmmmm ... it was about midnight when I heard an aircraft or something hovering above the neighborhood. Perhaps they're connected?

I remember having wholesome fun with all my friends into the evening, especially in the spring and summer months--and it could be these kids were on spring break. Brings back memories of when the weather was finally better and the spring had sprung, so we were all happy to be able stay out just a little later and enjoy since no school the next day.

It's what you do when you're young, innocent, and feel safe. Are we living in a neighborhood that is dangerous? Do we have drug dealers hanging around the corner peddling drugs at our kids? I feel bad today for our children. In general, kids spend too much time indoor on computers and playing with video games--so when we see that kids are enjoying themselves outdoors, we should embrace it as long as they are safe.

I wonder the ages of the kids you're referring to? Child? or Teen? Perhaps the parents were indeed inside not too far from ear shot.

Kids, enjoy yourselves because life is too short and the years go by too quickly.

Key words in the original post - AFTER MIDNIGHT!!! Yes kids are experience too much technology. No, exercise should not take place after midnight.

I think Pleasanton kids get away with too much.

Rita either doesn't have young children or has them and easily forgets them. We'll see how they grow up over the next few years. Best wishes to you, Rita!

maybe they were teens having fun and trying to get away with something. We all thought we were sneaky and getting away with stuff as teenagers, but in reality our parents pretty much knew everything we were doing. They were just trying to make sure we didn't die or hurt somebody else in the process.

So you may want o mention whether these were elementary or high school kids.

But on that note, it is good that people are looking out. It really does take a community.

I live in this wonderful neighborhood, and didn't hear any commotion last night. Just a suggestion - maybe talking to our neighbors in person may be more effective than posting on the Town Square. Perhaps the sleepover parents didn't hear any noise either, and Unsupervised Kids??? could let them know it was bothering him/her.
