Does Oakland get a say in this? I would think the Oakland Arena serves a larger fan base - people from the East Bay, Tri-Valley, San Jose and even further inland - where more families tend to live. Should watching professional basketball really be only something that only more affluent people can participate in - people who would have the money to stay overnight at a hotel on game night and go to high-priced SF restaurants?

Plus people forget that Oakland has the greater basketball history on either side of the Bay. Between Oakland and all of its suburbs, we have produced an impressive number of great teams from high schools to clubs to community colleges to universities. It's a shame that the Warriors prefer artificial recognition through a Hollywood mogul's testimonial-obsessed rose-rimmed view of the Bay.

And nobody has even mentioned an Environmental Impact Report! No matter how ideal the deal is financially, environmentally, it is an absolute disaster. How do all these parties know that the new arena won't pollute the Bay?
