Experience the best of Pleasanton

Original post made by Don Fan on Nov 11, 2008

For anyone looking for an inexpensive and fun night out, Friday night is the "Battle of Pleasanton" at Amador Valley High School when the visiting Foothill Falcons travel to Amador Valley to take on the Don's in the season finale for both teams. Foothill looks assured of an N.C.S. playoff spot regardless of the outcome based on its 7-2 record, but the Don's have everything on the line as an upset win would likely get them to the "big dance" as well. For the $5 admission you'll be treated to an electric environment matched by few high school venues anywhere in the state or even country. Last time these 2 teams met at Amador the crowd was estimated at approximately 5,000! Let's show our typical Pleasanton support for these 2 great schools and celebrate Sr. night for the outgoing Sr. Football Players and Cheerleaders for the Don's. Pre-game festivities start around 6:15PM, and gametime kickoff is set for 7:00PM. Be sure to arrive early as parking and seating is likely to be at a premium!

What do you want to hear? NO and YES....... Come on, this topic is not related to your real complaint is it? Next the No on Prop 8 people are going to ask if gay's are welcome. Your response is really inappropriate to the topic IMHO.

Note to the Weekly staff that moderate this forum.

I think its about time posters be asked to register before posting. At least it will cut the nonsense and make people who say such things accountable. I understand what the writer above is trying to say, given the childish/cowardly vandelism discussed in another thread here, but to highjack a topic such as the one above is irresponsible as well.

Let me say a few things differently: Childish vandalism? Will African Americans be safe at the event? If anything, what happened was organized psychological violence against innocent American citizens.

Will all non white caucasoids be safe? What about women? Mormons & Gays welcomed?

Nothing irresponsible being asked, one can't be too cautious in PTown, anymore.

Why not put in for a name change like Spooky Town USA.

Grow-up Anonymous, you're an embarassment to our city.

Ashamed - He is an embarassment to Livermore, luckily, not our city! Funny how he and cholo who, reside in Livermore, love to chide and whine about Pleasantonians.

Regarding the BIG GAME..........always lots of fun! We've been going for years and although the rivalry is intense, we see familes and friends of our kids from both sides of town and HAVE A BLAST!

(((Go Foothill!))) ;)

HAVE A BLAST! HOORAY!

Nobody is safe with caucasoids sneaking around vandalizing property while we sleep. We are not going to attend because we want to protect our property.

PW STAFF,

Interesting, you deem a comment that POINTS OUT that Anonymous is a racist troll to be inappropriate but you keep the one RIGHT ABOVE it where Anonymous racially profiles whites? Are you condoning racism against whites?

Let's do an experiment:

Which similar comment below do you find inappropriate:

A) (Like the one posted above) Nobody is safe with WHITES sneaking around vandalizing property while we sleep. We are not going to attend because we want to protect our property.

B) Nobody is safe with BLACKS sneaking around vandalizing property while we sleep. We
are not going to attend because we want to protect our property.

C) None of the above

D) (hint hint) All of the above

***
How did you do? Okay, now go back and look for ALL racial profiling or stereotyping.

Way to hijack a well intended topic folks! This forum is becoming less than useless due to anonimity.

Physical anthropology supports the use of terms like negroid, mongoloid and caucasoid. What's wrong? Not the least bit racist.

Don's and Falcons,

I completely agree with you. I don't understand why the PW is allowing it to be hijacked.

They obviously looked at the postings, and decided to remove one that talked about the hijacker but didn't remove the comments that had nothing to do with the thread or were blatantly racist.

What gives?

Anonymous started out as a "resident of Livermore", but is now posting (with similar verbage and theme) as "resident of Another Pleasanton neighborhood". Indicated he/she didn't want the initial comments associated with Pleasanton or wants credibility after being questioned as a non Pleasanton resident. Either way is looking to stir a pot single handedly.

Agree with Don's and Falcon's It is a sad statement that such a friendly intended topic has be highjacked and turned in one persons not topical diatribe.

Please show your support for Pleasanton High School football by attending tonights game!

Go Don's!

"Physical anthropology supports the use of terms like negroid, mongoloid and caucasoid. What's wrong? Not the least bit racist. "

Are you being facetious? It isn't the word "caucasoid" that is the problem, but the context of you making a judgment based upon it. You certainly won't find serious physical anthropologists writing to say that nobody is safe with all these mtDNA haplogroup type Ts running around.

Try to understand that science has come up with the definition of caucasoid.
