Cops ... in P Town
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Nohbody, a resident of the Downtown neighborhood, on Feb 28, 2013 at 2:51 pm

The police make up rules to pull people over ... free right hand turns from a right hand lane, or a single lane with no other option is free anywhere else in the U.S. They suddenly become a "reason" to pull people over here in Pleasanton.

And if you have out of state plates - watch out! Cause, you'll get cited for that too.

The money I'm spending on attorneys to defend and sue the city over this kind of minor bull crap is hopefully the last money I'll ever spend in Pleasanton.

Actually, I just saw a young girl in tears driving a white car northbound at the Santa Rita and Stoneridge intersection and as I was driving by on Santa Rita, the police officer was bullying her to open the trunk of the car.

The Pleasanton Police will pull you over for reasons that they can't ticket you for just to check if you have been drinking. This has happened to me 3 times. It is illegal and amounts to harrassment.

The Pleasanton Police tends to pull over anyone that is driving after the sun goes down. They then claim that they smell alcohol (bogus claim) and then ask to search your car. If you say no, they will then conduct a field sobriety test.

After you pass, make sure you get the cop's name, then fill out a formal complaint (email is fine) and send it to the police chief and copy the mayor and city council.

"free right hand turns from a right hand lane, or a single lane with no other option is free anywhere else in the U.S." And they are free here too moron -- AFTER YOU STOP. I am sick of being nearly run over by drivers making a no stop right turn, while looking left for traffic, and almost hitting me in the crosswalk. I now carry a "walking stick" and I take a huge whack at their car when they fail to yield. How do you like that dent in your right rear panel Ms. white SUV, talking on the cellphone, soccer mom?

Cops stop drivers who appear drunk because, guess what, you are driving like you might be drunk! Pay attention to the roads, the laws and the speed limit and they will have no reason to stop you.

Good luck in court Nohbody. I hope you win your case. Maybe then the pleasanton police department will discontinue their practice of citizen harrassment.

Just pay the fine now, before you parade your ignorance in front of a courtroom full of witnesses. Cut your losses and learn something from your mistakes......MC Hammer?

I've lived here 40 years and was pulled over only once because both brake lights on my car were burned out. Glad to hear the police are doing their job and pulling over lousy, unsafe drivers and people who don't register their cars in California after they have moved here.

I was about to call them yesterday and ask that they do more to tickets the folks who can't be bothered to actually stop at stop signs.

Good job Ptown PD.....these losers forgot driving is a privilege....not a right. Keep up the good work and cite em all!

Keep harassing the working tax-payers with your morning commute time ambushes so that the coffers stay full and you can retire at 50 and go get another job. These so-called citizens deserve nothing but your contempt! Remember the OPD Riders? They got off! I think you aren't doing enough if you aren't planting drugs and weapons on these so-called citizens. No one in Pleasanton should be able to drive through town without fear of being pulled over and slammed into Santa Rita while on their way to work to make the money that pays your salary and pension! Keep up the good work and start planting some drugs too!

'Good job', leave your stash and your Glock at home and not in the glove box of your Dodge 300 with the totally blacked out windows and you can stay under the radar. If you think you're a target for the police aks yourself 'what I am doing wrong'. You can take the monkey out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the monkey. Don't give the police a reason to pull you over and they won't.

And the phony accusation of planted drugs...really? You must have a serious axe to grind and can't accept the consequences for your own illegal behavior. Stay out of Pleasanton and you can avoid this situation altogether.
