Need part-time legislature
State, National, International, posted by enough, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Feb 25, 2013 at 8:08 pm

Here is a great reason why we should go to a part-time legislature. In California, the legislature has proposed 2,189 bills this year. Plus 23 constitutional amendments. They obviously have too much time on their hands as we do not need over 2,000 pieces of legislation in a single year. The legislature is spending time on all of these instead of really fixing what is broken (e.g., long term debt, usurping decision-making powers of the cities for land use, etc.).

Ah, yet another spoof. The legis work too hard, consider too many bills for too many problems, so let's cut their hours. Sounds logical to me! Nice try, troll. Perhaps a teabaggie rube might give you some uptake on this.

Nobody has ever said the legislature works too hard. They spend most of their time try to solve non-problems and very little time solving real problems.

Absolutely, part-time is logical and common-sense. CA use to be part-time, I believe it ended in the 60s. It would help tremendously with the pension problem. It would prevent so much crap being cranked out, and all the shmoozing with lobbyists.
