A Hooter's in Downtown Pleasanton??? What!!??
Restaurants, posted by Katie Moe, a resident of the Pleasanton Meadows neighborhood, on Aug 11, 2007 at 9:53 pm

This morning I was driving down Main Street to enjoy the farmer's market when I noticed the construction progress on the histroic building downtown (across from Washington Mutual). Despite the chain link fences, you can see how beautiful the building is going to be and it is so nice that this will be another addition to our charming Main Street. Then I noticed that there was a sign on one of the fences saying "Hooters, coming soon. Applications being accepted" Are you kidding me??? Hooters in downtown Pleasanton??? Weeks after we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the arch over Main Street we are not getting ready to bring a Hooters to Main Street???

I have to say that I would feel this way if it was any large chain restaurant, not just Hooter's. But honestly, we have such a wonderful downtown area that attracts people for it's history, charm and friendly atmosphere. In my opinion, opening a Hooter's cheapens and lessens the attractiveness of Main Street. I am not sure if anything can be done, but I am curious as to why this has never been brought to the attention of the Pleasanton residents???

Thanks for your time.

Hehe! Well a Hooters would fit right in with another side of downtown history. Before it became such a nice place it used to be quite a red-light district!

It's a hoax.

It better be a hoax. The name of that restuarant itself is horrible. Imagine explaining to your five year old daughter what the name means. My daughter asked. It's demeaning.
