LOL. So the "victim" approached the old man with the intent of starting crap and got more than he bargained for? Then he kept coming and the older gentleman(must be to carry a cane sword took action against the young whipper snapper!? Oh I think the older man should have gotten a medal. They are going only on the word of the person reporting. The older man exited the freeway and the other person followed which was an act of aggresion. The older man was defending himself! P-town PD stop thinking everone who pulls a weapon is a bad guy or you will be looked at the same!

Red Coat's Fan must have posted here for one of two reasons:

1) The word "rage" made him think of Red Coats. Maybe he/she is one of those that likes to duke it out at Red Coats.

2) He/she is still in a drunken stuper from the Super Bowl and doesn't know where he/she is.

The point is, that people should be more considerate of each other, if there is a question and you know the answer, answer the question and move on. there is too much hatred going on with the people in this world. It doesn't hurt to show a little kindness, have a little heart and compassion for your fellow persons.Don't be sho quick to jump down somebodies throat just because they asked a question.

Thank God I'm not laying out on a road with my throat cut, these three people would just spit and walk on by and let me suffer.

We haven't lived in Pleasanton very long, but I feel like maybe we moved to a city that possibly has some of the meanest, rudest people in the US. Very sad.

Don't judge our city by the comments here in this Pleasanton Weekly comment page.

For some reason when CB radios weren't cool any longer thoses same people now use this as a way to act tough... Ie, go after Obama for everything and knock anyone who have what they don't.. If this was a true indication of Pleasanton character I'd have moved 23 years ago.. These are just keyboard commandos.. I hope you find the real kind and considerate people here in town, you won't have to look far..

Since when do you drive from 580 down to Stanley to "talk". The "victim" was looking for a fight, and he found a guy ready to protect himself. The 68 year old wasn't following the victim. He was trying to drive away. Luckily he had the weapon or he'd probably be in the hospital or dead right now.

Pleasanton is filled with good people. This forum is often dominated by haters. Of all of the people who I have known and met in Pleasanton, none of them have the characteristics of the haters who frequently post in this forum.

I agree with those who are protecting Pleasanton's reputation. It's NOT full of rude people but there are some people like everywhere else that can't act civilly nor maturely. The issue here is road rage and the increasing dysfunction of those behind the wheel. We don't own the roads we all must share and if we are having issues with another motorist it's best to distance ourselves from them. Steer clear and go about your own way. Never try to match wits with anyone no matter what age they are and don't be the instigator of trouble. These things we were taught in Kindergarten.

Unfortunately, he can't break the law. But, in a way I don't mind...sometimes.
