Pleasanton’s Lydiksen Elementary School was put on lockdown briefly Wednesday afternoon as police searched for a potentially armed man.

Pleasanton police announced at 1:57 p.m. that the school at 7700 Highland Oaks Drive had been placed on lockdown while authorities searched for a man possibly armed with a knife, who was seen near campus.

About six minutes after the initial alert, police said the lockdown was lifted because the subject was detained at another location. The individual’s name and additional details about the incident have not yet been released.
