Honoring Cancer Survivors Event
Original post made by Ken mano on Apr 11, 2014
Saturday, April 26th from 5pm to 7pm
at the Pleasanton Marriott Hotel
Join us for refreshments and inspiration.
This is an event to honor cancer survivors and their caregivers sponsored by the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life Committee and the Pleasanton Marriott Hotel (we thank them for providing the room and refreshments for this activity).
A cancer survivor is defined by the American Cancer Society as anyone who is living with cancer, from the date of diagnosis. If you have ever heard the words, "You have cancer," we invite you to participate as a survivor.
Please contact Lisa Brown, event chairman at email@example.com for information. For planning purposes, we would appreciate knowing the name of the survivor in advance of the event.
Relay For Life is a community-based, volunteer-driven event that honors survivors and caregivers, remembers those lost to the disease, and fights for a world with more birthdays. Individuals and teams gather at a track, park, or fairground to camp out and walk overnight in confidence that their effort will lead to a cure. Teams organize and complete fundraisers to raise money for the cause, often continuing their efforts at the event. These funds bring the American Cancer Society one step closer to its goal of helping people stay well by helping them get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.
The Relay For Life event will be held in Pleasanton on July 19, 2014 at Pleasanton Middle School. Teams are now being organized, which raise funds for cancer in Memory of, or in Honor of a loved one. See www.relayforlife.org/pleasantonca for more information about this event. Contact Lisa Brown, Relay for Life Event Chairman, Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
