Regarding the robbery, the Pleasanton PD sent out an emergency notification text message via Nixle... around 3 PM.
Look, the emergency notification thing is fine and useful (except for the time they sent out a message that some kid had crashed his skateboard in a cul-de-sac. Really?). But sending an alert about a liquor store robbery SEVEN HOURS after the crime occurred is just useless. Any help the public might offer in terms of catching the suspects is long gone, as is any reason to avoid the area due to a closed street or other danger. Really, that sort of alert needs to go out within 30 minutes, if at all.
Just wait till the cheap housing comes to Pleasanton, there will be more and more of theses types of crimes. Do we really need an Express liquor store anyway? It is located down the street from where the planning commission rejected a 7-11 to avoid liquor sales and robberies on First Street!
Why cant the low or moderate income housing be designated for city employees? I realize how nice it would be for a family in Oakland to escape the mayhem, but it never seems to work out that way. An city employee or teacher would make a far better neighbor
Your grammatical incompetence and poor spelling makes it difficult to understand what point you're getting at, Republicrat. For example, just what are insinuating with your second sentence? You seem pretty confused. I trust whoever moves in won't be constantly mangling the English language, which will make them a real improvement over some of the uneducated types we currently have in our midst (as exemplified by Republicrat).
alum, when were you appointed site monitor for grammar and spelling? You also can't read between the lines, so maybe monitoring posts is not your forte. Taking the liberty of interpreting Republicrats statement, the inference is that low income housing has the potential to bring many people with poor habits and bad behavior into our area to potentially commit crimes like the topic of this story. The individuals trashing low income housing in Oakland will certainly not have an epiphany when relocating to Pleasanton and somehow become model citizens with excellent command of the English language, as you suggest (i.e-saying 'aks' instead of 'ask'). If this is your idea of 'real improvement', you need to come down out of the hills once in a while and see how the rest of us live. That would be 'educational'.
Don't miss out on the discussion!
