I hope no one is surprised...Why shouldn't they approve the contract...They got what they wanted and demanded. The BART Board created a big BS show.

We the people get screwed again and again...

I am sure the Cholo thing is smiling and maybe laughing...

Take Care and enjoy the ride..Julia Pardini from Alamo

As usual, the general public was the loser in the BART fiasco.

Turns out we don't have only to worry about the permanent source of funding, much of what BART management is spinning isn't accurate. As pointed out elsewhere, some of the claimed concessions are subject to arbitration and, likely, additional compensation. Also, the whopping $37 a month more for benefits (slow increase to the membership over four years) is only good for the life of the contract--it is not permanent.

What does it mean to "lie" if you represent/support BART management?

Has anyone studied the manner in which BART mgt. has lied to the public in the past 10 yrs.?

Cholo, Both sides stretched what little truth there was to be had. The losers are riders and taxpayers.

Oh, I see. We've got to get rid of the unions AND we have to get rid of BART management. Because Kathleen sat in on the negotiation sessions, has perfect understanding of the issues, and has thought about all of this without being personally biased. What? None of the above? She didn't sit in on sessions? She has no understanding beyond what select quotes she's taking from media? And she's unable to overcome a personal bias that was birthed early on in her life? Thought so! I think she should stand in front of a BART station with a sign in order to prove her relevance to the voting public.

Saul, Sorry the media, who has the contract, isn't good enough coverage for you. But nowhere did I indicate anyone, other than the BART board, should be eliminated. But then, you have to make these fallacious, fantastical leaps to express your faux outrage. Tell me which parts aren't true based on your research and knowledge, and maybe that stumper of a question about the permanent source of funding.

Sorry, MY outrage? I'm not the one calling for people's heads. Maybe you can wage a media campaign? "They lost to the union thugs; now Bart Board members must go!" While I cannot take your comments seriously, surely there are some out there -- da veg and others -- who might help supply you with the crayons you need.

That would be my opinion; they gave away the store despite the backing of the public. You didn't respond to which parts aren't true . . .

Interesting, Cholo, what "something bad most likely happened"? . . . the potential for the bottom half of ridership being hurt by fare increases; the grandfathering clause that will cannibalize future union members in favor of those who are already members?

Cholo doesn't ride BART, so he could care less if the fares go to to support the union welfare contract. Once he figures out how to purchase a ticket a the electronic kiosks, maybe he will feel the same pain that middle class commuters feel daily riding this public welfare project.

A loud raspberry for the union thugs and their knuckle dragging spokesperson and all those who support more commuter subsidized welfare for BART employees who couldn't find gainful employment anywhere else.

Back to the drawing board with these knuckle dragging BART employees. Gimme, gimme, gimme.....they are just like spoiled children. Cholo, you know I'm Right. These 'workers' don't deserve the amount of salary and benefits they are extorting. If they weren't working for BART, they'd be dealing on the streets with the skills they've acquired......

How could the attorney consultant for BART not have seen or read the contract thoroughly? I head from BART management that he was paid $400,000 for a few months work while he vacationed in Paris, France! tee hee...

How could BART management not have read and understood the contract before signing?

I think that the Unions! should be allowed an additional 2% salary increase over the next 4 yrs. to make this a fair deal.

Otherwise some will have to pay through the nose and I don't mean maybe!

i rest my case...

I strongly recommend that all those pork-chops on the BART Board and BART management team all STEP DOWN! go away...far far away...

and i mean it...tee hee...made my day!

tonight my friends will gather around my table and we will share 3 pizzas...tomato, boiled potato and basil; spinach, black olive, & pesto; and a 3 cheese pizza...HOORAY! YUM YUM PLENTY! GORA!

I suspect my kitchen will sound like a room full of hyenas as we joke about BART and have what senior citizens refer to as FUN! FUN! FUN! HOORAY!

your truly,

Cholo Pololo Mololo...
