Defense attorney: teens involved in attack likely to be charged

Original post made on Oct 3, 2013

While a man who was beaten and left unconscious on the street remains in the hospital, the four young people involved could face a variety of charges, according to a member of a high-powered defense team that's handled similar cases throughout the Bay Area. David Lamont, 51, was attacked on Sept. 21 after he went outside his Middleton Court home to complain to people in a car parked on the cul-de-sac about the noise they were making.

Good information from the Attorney, makes it easy to understand the law and issue surrounding how to prove and get justice. One of my concerns is if he was hit so hard on his head to cause this coma, will he actually be able to identify the attackers? He may have loss of memory. I had hoped there were some security camera's in neighboring homes that would have caught the attackers on video. Let's hope they do. Also there was a witness that was coming home from work and saw the cars leaving. Hopefully his testimony will help. These people need to be held accountable for their actions.

I have a high degree of confidence that the Pleasanton Police Department will get this right. They have shown patience and purpose in the past while investigating violent crime in the area. I think the recent arrest of Cody Hall for the death of caused by criminal behavior on Foothill Road is a good example of a proper investigation that netted a prosecutable (and warranted) arrest. I expect this incident will be given equal attention and process.
