Dem. Illinois Sen. wants to limit free speech on the internet

Original post made by keep the internet free on Feb 21, 2013

Interesting article Web Link about Dem. Senator Ira Silverstein proposing a bill to ban anonymous postings on the internet. Given the state of the economy, why would this be considered a priority?

I don't see what's wrong with this proposed bill. If posters won't use their real names to criticize obamas destruction of our economy, how can the govt track them down to 're-educate' them? I guess tracking IP addresses is too hard for these same fools can't safeguard against the Chinese military hacking US websites.

If the govt wants to track you down they can, though I doubt it would waste its time on a small vocal minority that is rapidly dying off. Now, if you've got mental problems, show violent tendencies, complain about minority groups all the time, and announce you're running a day care center in the community, that might raise an eyebrow or two. Relax, 'no free speech,' nobody thinks you're worth the attention unless, well, you know.

liberalism is a disease is a registered user.

..."a small vocal minority that is rapidly dying off....' You mean the Occupy movement? ACORN? angry welfare recipients? (actually, they are not a minority any longer).
Why propose the bill inthe first place? What is this Dem. Senator afraid of? Who is pulling his strings and why do his masters feel this legislation is necessary?
Maybe this topic is not relevant...unless you post anonymously, eh, Anonymous?

Police & FBI take anonymous tips, because there is much more accuracy when people are free to speak more freely & honestly.
Everybody loses with Pravda & gestapo mentality attempts to silence 'the people'. Intent is to intimidate!! that's sick.
Illinois Dem, hmmm...could that be from crazies like Blagovich, Jesse jr, etc and all the crooks that come out of Cook Co, Illinois...silence. NOT in the USofA I know!

Reread the article - assuming you read it in the first place. Your misunderstanding of this matter is staggering. No small wonder why you can't find a job.

Looks like Anonymous will have to get a real name. Maybe start by tracking down your daddy.
