Q. Did it wipe out other communities as well?
Couldn't they have figured some way for Innocent people to get across town?

My experience is that sports events take precedent over anyone's life.

At least in the minds of those with the power to make such huge changes that affect everyone's daily lives.

Jake, I share your feelings here in Pleasanton. I am about 4 blocks away from the Sports Park, and on hot evenings it can be very annoying, since people over there refuse to stop their games by 10pm, when they should. They just continue their screaming and yelling for as long as they please. After all. sports are always more important!

You four folks have just demonstrated that 75% of Pleasantonites are sour pusses.

I'm sure that Fedup never noticed that big space with the big sign saying "Sports Park" when he bought his home. Sounds like the people that buy a house next to an airport and then complain about the planes. Sourpusses is putting it mildly!

This reminds me of many of my downtown neighbors. They want to live downtown however don't want to deal with the Farmer's Market, Concerts, Skate Rinks and the people and cars that they bring. They complain that there's nothing to do downtown and then try to eliminate everything that disrupts them in any way.

Trekmtb -exactly. Let's see, I'm inconvenienced for 5-6 hours (and need to complain about it) so Livermore (and by extension a number of additional communities) can host some bike race. Oh yeah, a bike race that is in the top 10 in the world, is televised around the world, and will bring visitors to our area who will book hotel rooms, dine, visit wineries, etc. Wah, wah, wah... me, me, me. Get a life.

I think what the poster above was referring to is of a 10 o'clock ordinance on noise. There are restrictions past this time, and the games at the Park many times go way past it. I know it because I live close by. Although that doesn't really bother me, I can see why it would be annoying to many people.

Yes, one can move to an area knowing that there'll be noise until 10 pm, but if the noise continues past that time, the complaint is legitimate.
