What is the reason they repave Santa Rita Rd so often while some other key arterials are much more in need of repair? A prime example is Old Stanley Blvd from Santa Rita Rd to Stanley Blvd (yes, like it or not, it is a key arterial). Driving on Old Stanley Blvd is a jarring experience that hammers tires and suspensions. Another example is Valley Avenue from Bernal (by the Fairgrounds) to Paseo Santa Cruz. Is providing smooth sailing for Livermore cut-through traffic a wise investment of our precious road maintenance funds?

It's all just a way of (mis)using our tax-based stimulus money. Lots of busy-busy work, for nothing,. Why do they always need a road crew guy doing nothing but holding a stop sign? It's just a sinkhole for our tax dollars. The roads will flatten themselves out if they're left alone. More government waste of our tax dollar.

It would be nice if they could do work between 8:00 and 3:30. Traffic going toward Amador, and downtown at that time will be a nightmare.

Are they re-paving that particular area to welcome the new Walmart?

Stacey is a registered user.

I suspect the actual work involved will be to fix (yet again) the southbound approach to the Arroyo Mocho bridge that keeps breaking up because either the road is sinking or the bridge is lifting. Or, at least I hope that's what this roadwork project entails.

Why can't they fix W.Los Positas too. It's been coned off for weeks going east. That street is a mess.
They slurry coated our street some years back and then layed down small gravel and rolled it. Days later we were still tracking in those little rocks. I called the city and asked them why the street cleaner did not come and clean up the aftermath when they were done.
I was told if I wanted the street cleaner to come and clean it up I would have to pay for it myself! Oh yeah, I'm gonna foot the bill for something the city should have done in the first place
