I think it's great that we have such a large college fair for our students. The staff do an excellent job coordinating this event.

One suggestion...I would love to see the Tri-Valley College Fair move to another weeknight. Thursday nights are difficult for students preparing for tests and quizes on Friday. I understand this fair always takes place on a Thursday night. Also, if the fair could start right after school, students could go directly after school before going home to do their homework and study.

The state sets the date and time of these college fairs to accomodate the reps travel to the locations. Also need to keep in mind that the fair is for parents, who for the majority, need an evening time because of their jobs.

I would prefer having the fair held over the weekend since many students and parents just don't have the flexibility during the school/work week to attend this important fair. My student and I went last year and it definitely increased her awareness of the huge variety of college and some other options that are available for after high school. We were able to talk with college reps and got information about specific campuses easily and efficiently.
