Arizona Governor Stumbles in Debate

Original post made by Amazon on Sep 2, 2010

In a televised debate today, Arizona's Gov. Jan Brewer further showed that she suffers from a lack of clear thinking. We already knew that given her anti-immigration stance, but this just further confirms it

I think she sounded somewhat senile. She refused to take back the comment about beheadings on the border when the democratic opponent asked her to. She then refused to talk about it when approached by reporters - she was asked to accept that she made a mistake and that there are no beheadings, but she did not answer. If she truly believes in the beheadings, then she should have confirmed her statement when asked to take it back. She obviously knows she is wrong but refuses to accept it.

Who in their right mind would vote for this lady? Is this what we have to look forward from the GOP? That is truly scary because we need good candidates to run against the democrats.

Gov. Brewer finally admited she was "wrong" about all the beheadings in Arizona: "That was an error, if I said that," the Republican told The Associated Press on Friday. "I misspoke, but you know, let me be clear, I am concerned about the border region because it continues to be reported in Mexico that there's a lot of violence going on and we don't want that going into Arizona."

The AP article goes on to say:
"She said she was referring to beheadings and other cartel-related violence in Mexico in comments she made earlier this summer about decapitated bodies found in the state's southern region."

Interesting. In June, during a KPNX TV interview, she stated: "Oh, our law enforcement agencies have found bodies in the desert, either buried or just lying out there, that have been beheaded."

Gov. Brewer's Republican/Tea Party supporters call that "word-smithing." I call it lying.

right raerae - you will call brewer on a stumble or error, but not our VP biden, of course. have you ever misspoken or repeated bad information someone gave you?

our teleprompter president will never make such a stumble, because the words are all right there for him

GW bush didn't have a teleprompter following him everywhere he went, glenn beck went up in front of the lincoln memorial and addressed a half a million people with no teleprompter

i will take someone who is speaking from notes or extemporaneously any day, because you know what they think, not what the words on the screen written by someone else are telling them to say

Translation of radical's rant: "I prefer someone who is making things up as they go and scaring people. I'm distrustful of those who take the effort to prepare their words and facts carefully."

What do you have against America, anyway, that makes you label yourself as such a "radical?"

right right fake patrio, i will just call you pat, as in "It's Pat!"

it is what you have planned for America that I am against, pat,

my last post was not a rant, it was a number of facts, followed with a bit of opinion, pat.

instead of attacking me, how about refuting one statement of fact i have posed?

Nice name calling. And how can you call yourself a Tea Partier in one post, then come here and say you're against what the Tea Party has planned for America? Way to flip-flop.

Oh Radical, you mean you'd rather have someone speak off the top of their head with what they really know, so we can have a president who sounds like this? Web Link
Maybe he should have had a prompter so he sounded a bit more educated, and more like a president than a stand up comedian.
