Tea Party in Searchlight, Nevada

Original post made by Pleasanton Mom, Birdland, on Mar 29, 2010

Gas to Searchlight Nevada and back.....$85 (hybrid)
One night in Hotel.....................$89
Ten Thousand Conservatives having a Tea Party in Harry Reid's backyard...............................PRICELESS!

My husband and I drove to Searchlight Nevada on Saturday to attend the kick-off event of the 3rd national tour of the Tea Party Express.

The Sky Writing airplanes that spelled out: VOTE REID OUT was so cool. Seeing the beautiful Sarah Palin was awesome. Victoria Jackson from SNL was there. Hearing Lloyd Marcus sing "Twenty Ten" was fantastic.

CNN reported "At least dozens of people" showed up to the event.

Since CNN has trouble reporting the truth, these aerial photos show the truth:

I bet they left the place looking like they did when they found it also. Prince Harry is going down as are tons of the other incumbents who do not abide by the people who elected them.

You quoted CNN as saying "at least dozens of people" showed up, but CNN never said that. This is what's known as a straw-man argument: you put words in someone's mouth and then defeat the words you invented.

It's the last resort of someone who cannot win on the merits of their arguments.

Right before they go into how Sarah Palin says she is not inciting violence by using the word "reload"

Thanks for repping the Pleasanton Tea Party down in Searchlight PMom

Way to go, PM! I was there in spirit! That socialist has hurt this country in so many ways. He has to be voted out, as does McNerney too!

Coffee Party Average Age: 48

Gender and Racial Breakdown: The crowds at the four events our correspondents attended were predominately white and roughly 60 percent male.

Why isn't MSNBC going crazy over the "white" crowds?

I guess that means only middle-aged white males form Parties? That'll explain Boston.

I'm sure harry reid's constituents are pleased with all the money you guys spent there. I bet they're shaking their fists at him right now. You sure showed him. Oh yeah, sarah palin was there too. Wow.

From the looks of that aerial photo you posted, i would say maybe 2 thousand people there tops. Nice going. An excellent example of political masturbation...

I also enjoyed reading all the articles of the teabagger protesters talking about the social security and unemployment checks they cash, and how they think the government should do *more* to create jobs. The ultimate was the guy who said he was heading back to pennsylvania to apply for a job at the Census Bureau...classic.

There is no infrastructure in Searchlight, so there wasn't any place to spend money on, except perhaps a gas station, and maybe a McDonalds. They only have one crappy motel. I didn't spend a dime there.

But thank you for your lovely thoughts, as usual.

So CNN reported, "hundreds of people, at least dozens of people, we haven't gotten a count..."
How is that controversial? They didn't say "Our confirmed final count is dozens of people." They fricking said they didn't have a count. THAT'S the straw man argument.
I read 7,000. Yay you. Out of a population of 307,006,550, YOUR movement represents the REAL America.
Hey, you must be very proud of the pins being sold depicting our President as the Joker. Classy group.

Silly on the part of CNN, shows why there is no one watching that channel. Non-controversial until one of you lied about it.

I hear Harry Reid was really happy with the amount of tourist dollars you all brought in. LOL! I'm sure you guys stimulated that economy really good. Looked like you were all getting a little 'communal' there. Be careful, someone might think you're hippies or something.

Did anyone pass around baskets to the older folks so they could turn in their socialist Medi-care cards?

Who cares how many people CNN says showed up? Do you know the media ignored a huge war protest (1M+ people) in DC before Bush invaded Iraq? Corporate owned media could have cared less and never mentioned a word. You only get good coverage if it's in their best interest. They might be getting tired of promoting it now since HCR has passed.

I agree with the prediction that the Tea Party will eventually have enough critical mass to field a candidate for elected office someday, and the resulting damage to the Republican party will render it impotent for years. That spoiler (Palin?) will split the Republican party into thirds -- those that support the Tea Party, those that don't, and those in the middle -- and thus render it incapable of effecting anything.

Remember Ross Perot, anyone?

Is it like when Fox reported the CNN didn't cover the MILLIONS of people who attended the 9/12 protest in DC?
Just curious.

Actually, most recently, barely 8 days ago, there was a rally in DC that drew over 200,000 people in support of comprehensive immigration reform. Didn't hear about it? Oh yeah, i guess it was because they weren't holding up signs claiming obama was a marxist/communist/facist intent on forcing you to buy GM products...but yeah, go ahead and celebrate the fact that you drew together .000001% of the US population to an isolated backwater to hear a made-over neanderthal grunt a few words and holler you betcha. Oh yeah, and I hear sarah palin was there too. She's so perty. Didn't hear a word she said...but she shore is perty.

Well I do not know about all of the BS above but Harry is finished and we can start marking them off of the scorecard. I really like the lists going around of incumbents marked for defeat. Actually they have done a pretty good job at eliminating themselves. I will be great watching the smile disappear off of our plastic queen, Pelosi's face. The only thing worse than her plastic surgery is Biden unfinished hair plugs.

DETROIT — Nine alleged members of a Christian militia group that was girding for battle with the Antichrist were charged Monday with plotting to kill a police officer and slaughter scores more by bombing the funeral — all in hopes of touching off an uprising against the U.S. government.

PMT or maybe PMS is better. Take a pill and relax a bit. Everyone can see what is going on. The next election will be a bloodbath for the incumbents and goodbye I say. Obama needs to get his socialist agenda done in the next few months because after that he will just be a do nothing lame duck President because of the horrible way he stuffed through this half baked healthcare porkulus. Only the most ardent socialist could defend what he is doing. He has fractured this country like no other President I have seen. "bring it on!" what kind of a leader would say that to the 68% of the population who do not like his Obamacare? I thought we had elected a President not a campaigner in chief? At some point do you think he will get involved at all in the economy? I mean 10% nationally and 12.5% in this state is a bit high don't you think or should we move on the cap and trade, or financial reform, or possibly Afghanistan, or immigration reform. The guy certainly has interesting priorities.

Pleasanton Mom Wow!

You feel that what you posted is a "debate" wow!

And you use the term "subsistence" my lord almighty!

It appears that the Tea Party is upset that the numbers may not have bee reported accurately in regard to a Tea Party, the like of a reminiscent Altamont Concert in the 60s!

As in you post, this movement is more accurately "Master Bating" rather than " De Bating" don't you think?

The blind leading the blind at best in my humble opinion and the opinion of the average U.S. Citizen.

If you folks continue on your path as you are, becoming more and more fringe radical, we may need tax monies to jail and represent you.

Jim Jones had the exact same mentality as the Tea Party Mentality.

If your people asked most of you to drink cool aide out there, 99.5% of you would have done just that!

Lastly, YOU acted VERY rudely when you CUT me OFF in the parking lot at Safeway, fighting for the parking space I waited 6 minutes for! You got there just as the person was pulling out, tried to jockey your way in as if I wasn't their in a vehicle and then gave me a very snide look when I rolled down my window and said calmly "excuse me I am in a wheelchair and have been waiting fro this spot for 6 minutes" !! O Happy Day(Z)

When life hands you folks lemons, please make cool aide!

I'm not sure why you think I need to relax when you're the one writing "The next election will be a bloodbath for the incumbents and goodbye I say." and "Prince Harry is going down as are tons of the other incumbents who do not abide by the people who elected them."

BTW, President Obama didn't say "bring it" on to the 68 percent of people against this reform, firstly because 68 percent of the people are not against the reform, and secondly, he said it to the GOP regarding their lame repeal and replace platform in the upcoming elections.

You ever consider taking your liberal message of hate and intolerance to someplace where it would be appreciated like possibly Cuba or Iran?

Yeah PM4T,
I, for one, am really tired of your postings filled with hate and intolerance for those you don't agree with politically! I haven't figured out if it's scary or just really, really sad that you profess to love America, a nation built on the blood and diversity of not only its "natural born" natives, but also its voluntary and involuntary immigrants. You may love America, yet you obviously hate many Americans with your messages like:

"God is on our side" because we are the only "true Americans", "patriots", "decent Americans" standing together to fight the "evil" "socialist/Marxist/communist/nazi/statist Democrats" that are out to "destroy America".

OOPS!! SORRY!! MY MISTAKE!! That's not PM4T's message . . . it's "Pleasanton Mom's"!

Gee, "I know you need to hate me", but, really . . .

Do all you Tea Party Nation faithful actually believe that putting down everyone in America but those of the Tea Party persuasion, is going to convince all non-Tea Party Nation believers that what we really need in America is a government run by a single political party with every elected politician professing a single allegiance to a specific theology and political philosophy?

Wow, that's beginning to sound a lot like, oh I don't know, Iran?
