Our power went out at about 7.30pm and was back on about 11pm. Not bad considering that when we called PG&E they said a pole that's been knocked down can take from 5-7 hours to restore power. Hope the driver is ok

Our power was was very weak and the lights on our clock would dim, go out, come on full strength, then dim this started in the middle of the night and we could see our nieghbors lights following a similar cycle. Weird. I went back to sleep and all was well when I got up at 7:30

I don't know about everyone else, but I realized how desperately dependent we are on electricity ... at least MY life revolves nearly 100% on it. Every step I took for the first hour to detract myself from the outage ended up electrically related ... I felt like I was stranded on top of the Himalayan Mountains in the middle of a blizzard without blanets ... Okay, I'm exaggerating a little ... but when the lights came back on I felt I had been saved from desolation and immediately turned on my computer to hug the Internet.

In vintage hills we didn't get our power restored until about 2:00. I agree with Miguel it is quite disorienting to be without electricity!

Without power all night from the time of the accident until 9a next morning. Very cold night! Hope the driver is okay! With no tv, noise, etc. you could hear the ambulance arrive within minutes of the accident so we knew it was serious.

I concur with Sean. Have any of you put an emergency prepardness plan together? You should have candles/matches/laterns/flashlights available. Extra blankets. We participate in the international earth hour where we turn off and unplug ALL electrical appliances, phones, tv, etc. for one hour one day a year (look up earth hour). We play Scrabble by candlelight, talk, read etc. There are many things you can do without power.

Think when how it will be when our power is rationed....which it will be soon. Our society is dependent and now we have to share our power with all the ELECTRIC CARS sucking off our power too !! Yet political & green zealots continue the lies. Wind & solar combined are under 3-4 % of our supply, and won't noticably increase in the next decade, if ever. By the time your rates skyrocket from the shortage, it will be too late to save yourself ...or your job. Nuclear has been 24% of our supply for decades, but PG&E is also complicit along with the zealots, by 'accidently' falsely reportig on occassion...fearing you will wake up to reality that nuclear is the only DEPENDABLE supply for the MASSES for years to come. It's the only all-clean, carbon-free, abundant, affordable supply for massive populations. The deniers that are trapped in 1970s mentality, are denying us a decent future. We know who's who, and we'll be there when their chasing of windmills has destroyed the life we know.

Wait until anonymous 1881Q gets to have the joy of doing his many things like scrabble without power an hour EVERY DAY of the year, instead of his self-righteous one hour a YEAR! Paleeeze spare us his joys. Kind of him to remind us to get our candles, matches, & blankets together,....he knows we're all going to need a LOT of them ..sooner than we'll want. It is inevitable !. We are held HOSTAGE by the dreamers waiting to do what they've wanted to do for 30 years..the problem is the world has changed. They can't admit they are wrong for today, so we must all do without. Freedom in America is a thing of the past.
