Surreal Solo Exhibit - "Birth of an Artist"

Original post made by Claudette McDermott, Del Prado, on Nov 23, 2009

Surrealist Claudette McDermott unveils her latest work "Birth of an Artist" this week only! A solo exhibit presented by Poetry On Canvas at the Berry Patch shows 12 selected Oil on Canvas Originals in Richly Textured and Colorful Fine Art Works. This collection should not be missed and may not be shown again in such a wide variety in one place. Working in layers, Claudette begins with a raw canvas and acrylic to texture her backgrounds with a palette knife. Thick and quick, moving in all directions when the acrylic dries, it takes shape only when she rubs oil, translucent and handmade paint into the nooks and creases. After a creative process of rubbing off, the layers come alive and now the painting begins, with brush in hand and the Artists Visions, the Breath of Life is upon the canvas. 350 Main Street 11-7 daily or view her work at her official website Google: Poetry On Canvas Pleasanton.
