So, problem solved here! The Weekly has removed a number of topics entirely and dozens of posts within topics, as well as editing a number of posts from many people.

The line item summary of TOPICS is NOW 1/2 Editor Started Topics, to replace community member topics, in which the Weekly does not approve of the topic.

Private company and a private forum. All posts to be screened and the ones deemed to the Weekly staff liking remain. All others are edited or removed altogether.

So, all problems are solved!

Wow, another topic started and deleted! Used ONE user name and NOTHING rude what so ever, but Gone!

Out of the last 14 topics posted, 10 are by the Weekly Editor.

SO, new rules:

1. The Editor starts the majority of the topics

2. Community members post only what the Weekly staff would deem proper

3. Play along and be very careful what you say

Weekly is taking over and cleaning house, perhaps not a bad idea?

The reason the posts were removed and was explained by PW is that the same person was using multiple names to basically lead the conversation themselves. This is not free speech but rather some type of perverted method of trying to stir it up. If you have something to say you should use your real name.

"1. The Editor starts the majority of the topics"

I think that the reason we see "Editor" in the column that indicates who starts the post is that when a reader comments on an existing story, the forum software places "Editor" in that column. When a forum participant starts a new topic that's not commenting on an existing story, then it shows the person's name/handle that entered the new topic.

Check it out. I think that's the case.

Whats the differenced between a name such as Censored, Loi, Mike, Jon?

Is their a real identity or accountability in a first name?

We should all use first and last names. Mine is Bob or short for Robert Nelson. If it makes sense then it should not be difficult stand by what you say. To many people on here using Cholo, LawStudent and Stay Cool are the same person etc. so when you are outed you lose all credibility. No one even answers them anymore.

Bob,

"Outed" by whom, the Weekly, as in several cases?

If a positive ID were necessary via a membership, to post on the Weekly, there would be 99.9% less posts as evidenced by the fact that less than TEN people are registered and using their real names.

I wanted to add that I personally enjoyed the spin that "Lawstudent" gave when that Health Care Reform discussion was hot.

That person bailed from the forum all together it seems!

So much for a town forum for people to vent and share.

Gina's on a roll and 1/2 of the topics and many of many people's post within topic are GONE!

Like Gina said several times: "the posts are "stupid and not worth reading"...

Well I must say that a lot of the crazy attacks are calming down, thankfully.

A LOT less traffic on the site as well, so??

People do NOT like the feeling of being Censored or having a News Paper President say repeatedly that many posts are I QUOTE "STUPID and or NOT WORTH reading"...

Some people do not feel that their beliefs and values as communicated ar "stupid and not worth reading"...

Like the timeline as far as the 9/11 artice was not stupid? Should we as a community STOP reading the Weekly?

Food for thought . . . maybe the "crazy attacks are calming down" BECAUSE Ms. Channel-Allen has been unilaterally enforcing the Forum's "Terms of Use".

I'm not sure how long it will last, but it's interesting to pull up a message board view of the Forum and see mostly home town threads. I've also noticed that when posters choose not to comment on the anti-Obama threads, they also drift away.

Kind of nice while it lasts.

In all fairness you have a point,. I just see inconsistency in the censorship.

Some rude comments and attacks are ignored and other not so rude posts are deleted randomly.

I also STRONGLY feel that the President is arrogant in demeaner in stating that peoples posts are "STUPID and NOT worth reading" and inviting the readership to "find another forum" etc.

She very well could be directing these comments to some of her biggest advertisers.

Also, the Weekly seems to shut off people they don't agree with, but they seem to have a policy against coming clean with their own rudness and or mistakes.
