Police seized more than 64 pounds of illegal fireworks from a home in Dublin Thursday, according to police.

Special investigations officers served a warrant at a home in the 8400 block of Davona Drive, according to Dublin police, who had received reports of residents selling fireworks from a home in the neighborhood.

Police searched the home and reported finding mortar rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles, aerial fireworks and M-1000 explosives, which are the equivalent of a quarter stick of dynamite, according to police.

Explosive disposal officers from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to aid the investigation.

Christina Frye, 24 and Shane Frye, 32, were arrested for possession of a destructive device and booked at Santa Rita jail.

  1. Now, this is a real Sgt. Joe Friday moment if there ever was one:

JF: “Funny thing, your name being ‘Frye'”

    Frye: “How’s that?”

JF: “Well, it looks like you’re the ones getting burned.”
