A Pleasanton middle school student had to be resuscitated by lifeguards after an incident this afternoon during a school field trip to the Dolores Bengston Aquatic Center, according to a message the school e-mailed to parents.
The Harvest Park Middle School student, part of the sixth- and seventh-grade end-of-the-year field trip, apparently jumped into the pool, ingested some water and began to convulse, according to an e-mail sent by Principal Jim Hansen. Lifeguards pulled the boy from the pool, started CPR and called paramedics.
He began breathing and was taken to Valley Care Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
