The Pleasanton Public Library, 400 Old Bernal Ave., offers free English conversations classes from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays; noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays; and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays. Call 931-3411.

Grow professionally at Chamber Chatters, a Toastmasters club that meets from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, 777 Peters Ave. Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills. Peddler Shoppe at the Senior Center
The Peddler Shoppe in the lobby of the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 Sunol Blvd., offers the handmade wares of talented local senior artisans. It's a great place to buy gifts. The Shoppe is staffed by volunteers and is open to the public 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings; and 9 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday monthly.
